DIY Taggie Dino from an Old Sweater!

This Dino was made for a very special new addition - my first nephew, my sister's first child. He arrived yesterday afternoon and is utterly gorgeous, my two seem so big now!

My sister had given me an old cashmere sweater ages ago to make something with and it has sat in the basket waiting for the perfect project and this was it.

I used this fantastic template for the shape of the dino but cut it out with a seam allowance instead of cutting once sewn. It would have been quick to make if I had paid attention to the way it was put together and sewn the tags on the right way round (they were on the inside when it was as it is below with only the scraggy ends sticking out instead of the loops!), I won't do that again!

It will be a while until he can enjoy it, until then I will be happy to oblige in the cuddling department!

  2. So cute! Almost makes me broody again ;)
The dino is such a great idea - my three were all obsessed with labels when they were little - wish I had thought of something like this back then!

  7. Oh, I really like that! Your baby is adorable! I just had a little boy after 3 girls, so need to purge the pink and get some dinosaurs! :)

When you said you won't sew the tags on the inside again, what did you mean? What would you do next time? Thanks!

    1. Sorry, I meant, your sister's baby. Forgot that word. :)

    2. I should have been more clear - I just didn't pay enough attention to the tutorial and sewed it so the tags were on the inside and only the ends of the ribbon were on the outside of the toy... I forgot to put them upside down when sewing!

  8. This is just adorable! My nephew's nursery has a dinosaur theme so this would be perfect! Do you recommend sewing the tags on the outside - I don't have great sewing skills haha
