14/52 - Easter Sunday

What a lovely day, warm, sunny, family and chocolate, what more could you want?  Hope you have all had a lovely day as well.

We had a egg hunt in the garden

I chose some good hiding spots!

We had our traditional Easter pavlova, with cream and blueberries this year (I ran out of mini eggs - disaster) and far far too much chocolate, I will not be standing on the scales for a while!

Best of all though we were all together, Mum even made it to church this morning!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter!

For the last few years, since living here and having a hall really, I have decorated an Easter Egg 'tree'. I use branches from our hazel tree in the garden and decorate it with paper mache eggs my Mum gave me. I do feel it is a bit away from the meaning of Easter though...

This year I decided to use the Palm Sunday crosses (there are 3 in there, bad photo!) I have been collecting for years just to remind us.

4 New Additions and Happy Easter!

I thought it would be a few weeks until we got the new additions but we collected them yesterday afternoon and they have been settling in well, they even gave us 3 eggs this morning, perfect for Easter morning!

Yes, we were all out first thing, -1.5C in our PJ's excited to see if there were eggs :)

We are hoping the bunny and hens will become friends so they can share a run, they are a little unsure at the moment...!

Hope you have all had a great Easter, ours has been fun, a nice service at church, a family meal of roast chicken (which felt a little wrong...) then lemon curd pavlova and chocolate galore. I have a feeling the scales will be going in the wrong direction in the morning...!

Some Easter Hens!

We are getting real hens soon, hopefully in the next month or so, but in the mean time I have made a flock of beany hens!

I used this tutorial and made 6 hens, the kids love them and they don't sit on the shelf I put them on for long :)

They were super quick to make, I made all of them in a couple of hours ( I stuffed them with 2/3 stuffing, 1/3  rice) and to tempt you even more they are a great scrap buster for those useless bits of fabric you can't part with, or is that just me....!

Now to attempt a Simnel cake and Easter meringues like they made on the Great British Easter Masterclass the other night!

Linking to some of these fab linky parties!
