Holidays

We have just got back from a fun 2 weeks in Orlando  it was a busy but relaxing few weeks after what has been an insane 4 months.

We started the holiday at Universal Studios, it was great, I met a Minion and ate breakfast in the 3 Broomsticks in Hogsmead!

I made a couple of panic pairs of shorts in the few days before we left, my summer shorts were all too big (!) when I finally dragged them out of the box in the loft. I was going to make some nice pairs of proper shorts but instead used one of the the trouser patterns I have made my own and cut them on the knee. They have a jersey waistband so are super comfy.  The brown pair in the minion picture are not really squint and I can't actually find a photo of the others!

Big E loyally wore the shorts I had made for him but little e was having none of it and decided that all the shorts I had made for her and took with us made her look like a clown..... She rotated 2 shop bought pairs for the whole holiday :)

Husband didn't get any hand made holiday clothes but I did get him 6 new short sleeved shirts / polo shirts for £10 from my favourite charity shop, bargain!

Some other highlights were meeting Chewbacca at Hollywood Studios,

meeting Stitch in the Magic Kingdom ,

and seeing a Falcon 9 rocket launch and landing!

When we were in Florida 5 years ago we hoped to see the second last shuttle launch, it didn't while we were there so this almost made up for that disappointment!

Back soon with some proper sewing!

Prague - possibly the best city ever.

What can I say, Prague is an amazing city! We booked to go for 5 nights and had an amazing time. We opted for 5 days rather than more as I just wasn't sure how the kids would get on on a city break. I shouldn't have worried as they loved it!

It is a beautiful city, the architecture is amazing.

There is a lot of art all over the city, some of it very odd ....

There is a fantastic metro and tram network that was so cheap and easy to use.

 The technical museum was amazing!

There were lots and lots of sewing machines on display, this fantastic one was made in Glasgow.

There were classical concerts galore, we went to one in the Municipal Hall which was amazing,

and the zoo, what can I say, best zoo I have ever been to!

I promise it really is a real crocodile!

Any zoo with a splash pool gets bonus points, perfect for tired feet!

After 4 and a quarter days we had walked 36 miles and eaten about my weight in cake so hopefully they balanced each other out!

Legoland Windsor Resort - Amazing!

We are just back from 8 days away, the first two and a half were spend at Legoland Windsor Resort (This is not a sponsored post btw!!). It was amazing. We decided to splurge a little (lot...) and stay at the Legoland hotel, we booked a Kingdom room but it was unavailable so were upgraded for free to a Pirate Premium Room with park view. Wow. I will let the pictures explain...

We are now trying to decide if we should add a bit of Lego to the decoration of our house :)

I should say that Legoland itself was also great, not as slick as Disney in Florida but great fun!

Linking to some of these linky parties!

Off on my holidays!

There is much excitement in the house today, we head to Florida tomorrow with an unknown return date as they have moved the shuttle launch we hoped to see and if it is rescheduled for before the 3rd May we are going to extend our stay to see it!

I am going with a spare hold all in the suitcase so I can fill it with loads of crafty goodies, can't wait!!

Back in a couple of weeks
