Parisian Top

I have had my eye on this pattern for a while but last week I decided it was time to buy it.

I thought it would be the perfect thing to use up some of my jersey stash, unfortunately, my stash is not as large as I thought and the only fabric I had enough of was slightly odd cream bandage type jersey. Even then I didn't have quite enough and the shoulders ended up very narrow.

Crumpled after a day's wear.

Shoulder seams are too narrow, not particularly flattering!
I used some old fabric for for the collar that goes really well with my new skirt. The collar fabric is probably the same era as the skirt fabric - 70's ish. I can't believe in all these years of sewing I have actually made two things that properly go together - I'm learning...

Now to find some ethical or second hand fabric to make another version!

  1. This is a lovely pattern. I've not heard of it before. Your version is lovely, but yes, the shoulders are a bit narrow. Definitely wearable though. And the collar is a great way to use up scraps!!!

  3. A lovely pattern and lovely colour too. Love the PJ's in your last post. I would love to have hens too but we're not allowed either and I think the neighbours would complain.
